What is Verbatim USB?

Verbatim is a technology-based company, which develops and manufactures USB pendrives, Harddrives, Memorycards, other electronic gadgets, Blu-ray, DVD, and CD in large-scale. They have a great market in all over the World and people treated it as highly trusted brands in electronics like Toshiba, Transcend etc. In my view, I know this brand when I brought new pendrive of 4GB size in very cheap price ($10 only).

After using it, I feel the speedy file transferring than the SanDisk pendrives (in both sides). Verbatim is mainly concentrated to produce different types of compact pendrives with USB 3.0 series. Latest releases are Dog tag, Tattoo series and Clip it USB drives. Clip it usb drives are very compact and award-winning drive in 2010 for the best.

Verbatim Store n Go 4 GB USB Review: Design&Build (9/10)

Verbatim Store n Go type pendrive is very simple and compact pendrive. It is very handy device with enough space to hold it in one hand or using your two fingers. The dimensions of Verbatim Store n Go are 54 mm in length, 21 mm in width and 9.22 mm in thickness. It is only weighs around 8.6 grams. It have solid look and outer cover made of completely plastic. The plastics case finishing is not too good, but chamfered edges and corners provides unique look as compared with other pendrives.

The USB 2.0 portion is protected by using the pinstripe mechanism, which completely avoids the need of an extra cap for the protection. The push and sliding enables the USB thread to outer and inside of the body. The design also considers the portability of the verbatim pendrives. The rope holding design is provided at the back-end of the flash drive and helps to hold it using thin ropes or lock into your keychain.

The build quality of Verbatim 4 GB USB portable flash memory is good and manufactured it efficient manner. Only drawback is body is completely plastic, which may be affected pendrive build, when it dropped from certain height. The heating problem is very less as compared with other metallic bodied pendrive and feels light in weight. Overall, design and build quality are good, but not excellent.

Verbatim Store n Go 4 GB USB Review: Performance (9/10)

In terms of performance, Verbatim 4GB USB flash memory is like a cheetah animal, that means performance is excellent and speedy (USB 2.0), as compared with SanDisk flash memory. The company offers write speed of 4 MB/s and read speed of 10 MB/s. However, my Laptop (Dell XPS 15, 2.6 GHZ i5-processor and 4 GB RAM) registers speed at an average of 4.9 MB/s, while copying 1 GB sized movie to flash drive. The same files in return are much faster than the previous process. The usable memory is 3.76 GB out of 4GB. You can watch the verbatim 4GB pendrive speed testing video below, which conducted within my laptop.
! Tip: Performance depends on file size used in transferring process and computer capabilities.

It is USB 2.0 series pendrive, which make it less expensive than USB 3.0 series. However, speed and power management is less efficient in USB 2.0 version. The USB 3.0 versions of verbatim pendrives are available in online and retail markets.

It supports operating systems of Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Mac OS 9.0, Linux 2.4.0 or higher versions. It also works on most of the computers, multimedia USB devices, DVD players, popping up in cars etc. If you have micro USB converter (OTG cable), it will works on Mobilephones of both Windows phone 8.1 (Lumia 625) and Android One OS.

Verbatim Store n Go 4 GB USB Review: Miscellaneous (8.8/10)

Verbatim 4 GB Store n Go pendrives is provides 2 year limited warranty only, where as SanDisk provides 5 year warranty. The trial version of password protection software offered for downloading from their website, but I did not try it. The manufactures also offers free hot line support of fellow buyers, if they have any troubles while using the pendrives.

Final words

Verbatim Store n Go 4GB USB flash memory is one of the best USB pendrive, which provides very good transferring speed and great value for your money. It is handier and has a portable design for easy carrying and safe handling. It is much better than the SanDisk Cruzer blade pendrives, but slight bigger in size. One disadvantage I felt that the plastic body build.

Other features are good and completely a worthy pendrive both in terms of money and performance. I recommend it for both students and inter-mediate pro users. For the professionals, USB 3.0 series should be recommend.

Lenovo S20-30 Celeron Notebook Honest Review

If you are looking for a laptop only for office or internet browsing purposes, Lenovo S20-30 is best buy for you. It is an ultra slim and lightweight notebook, which provides satisfactory performance and battery life, as for the previously mentioned purposes. The S20-30 model has 11.6-inch HD display with on board Intel HD graphics and 2.16 GHz Intel Celeron N2840 makes it better than other laptops. It is worth for your money costs below $300 and see our rating below this page. The cons I founded are that no CD/DVD drive and USB ports are limited to 2 nos.

Key Features:- Intel Celeron N2840 processor (2.16 GHz); 2 GB RAM; Intel HD graphics; 11.6 inch HD wide Display; 500 GB harddisk; Slim design and very good build quality; battery life up to 5-6 hours; 720o HD web cam

The Pros
  • Ultra slim and light design
  • Good performance
  • Good batterylife
  • value for money
The Cons
  • No CD/DVD drive
  • Only two USB ports
Like our website name, let us see the honest review of Lenovo S20-30 notebook in very detailed manner.

What is Lenovo S20-30?

Lenovo S20-30 is a laptop with good performance and display. Some people call it as “netbook” or “Notebook” and others as Laptop. Actually, it is slim line notebook, which slightly differs from our common laptop. It have many similarities like, both are portable, high performing processor, ram, batterylife and HD display.

However, they do not have CD/DVD drive like a laptop, and have limitations in many ports and speaker features. In my opinion, notebook or netbook, mainly designed for business or internet uses and people also want compact sized, lightweight portable devices. In that point of view, Lenovo S20-30 is nice option and offers better user experience.

It released on the October 2014, manufactured by one of the great laptop brand, Lenovo. The most of the Lenovo products have good build and promising features, which already make a trust in people who seeks electronics devices. Both in terms of customer support and product services provide better choices to users.

Our Recommendation:-
For Office or Internet related applications only

Lenovo S20-30 Celeron Review: Design&Build (9/10)

The S20-30 is a compact and slim sized notebook. It is 46 cm in length, 38.6 cm in width and 13.2 cm thickness, when it is fully closed. It weighs around 1.3 Kg, so you can just hold with your one hand like a notebook. Because of the compact design, Lenovo S20 needs less space on your backpack ($4) and provides ultimate portability as compared with other high-performing laptops (bulky design).

The body and patterned outer lid are matte finished, not have an attractive look at the first time. The body is completely made of plastic with fade of black color, not metallic type like Dell laptops. In my experience, plastic bodied laptops have less heating issues and minimize the overheating problems with better than metallic type.

Like other Lenovo notebook design, the inside and side spaces, are nicely used for arranging keyboard, mouse pad and ports peripherals. The arrangement of keyboard (called as “Chiclet keyboard”) is in good way, but has doubt in the fixing strength. While using it, I feel unusual shakes on the keypad buttons. This is not big problem, Lenovo made it as removable type. You can replace with new one, once it failed completely.

The mouse pad (Touchpad) positioned at the lower center potion, just after chic keypad. The touchpad is rectangle type with curved edges, sized around 8.1 cm length and 4.4 cm width. It also contains the left and right buttons like our ordinary mouse. It is very responsive and sensitive, support multi-finger touching for using basic gesture operation like select, rotate, zoom in, zoom out and scrolling.

Lenovo S20-30 contains 2 USB ports, one HDMI, 3.5 mm headphone, memory card reader and LAN cable port. The left side contains the processor Novo button, heat ventilation, RJ-45 port, HDMI and USB 3.0 port and right side contains power slot, USB 2.0 port, headphone 3.5mm audio out and memory card reader. The USB supports both USB 3.0 a or USB 2.0 pen drives without any problems and only you need to plugin to it and automatically detects and install in the system.

The memory card reader is only accessible, if you have compatible adapter. You can use the new Novo button provided by Lenovo in different uses like access BIOS setup or to enter boot menu or to start Lenovo OneKey Recovery system.

Tip!:- Keep your ventilation slots are in open condition, otherwise causes overheating.

The disadvantage of this notebook founded is that contains only two USB ports. In my suggestion, needs one more USB drive for better user experience. If you have Bluetooth supported mouse or other peripherals, you can effectively use the two USB ports. Keyboard has not strongly placed and I think Lenovo provides a provision for users to replacement of keyboard, after its failure.

It does not contain a CD/DVD drive. You can see that provision of CD/DVD is impossible with ultra thin and compact designed notebooks. For getting such design, need to sacrifices some features to make it simple and compact. Overall, S20-30 is a nice design, great build, good looking and lightweight notebook.

Lenovo S20-30 Celeron Review: Performance (8.2/10)

In performance terms, Lenovo S20 provides good speed with upgrade version of 2.16 GHz, Intel Celeron N2840 processor. The 2 GB DDR3L RAM also helps the boosting technology of Celeron processor and boosts up to 2.56 GHz, whenever there is need of speed. The Intel HD graphics nicely works with this processor and provide better graphics experience. It works great with default uses like net browsing and default apps (Internet explorer, MS office etc) usage. The 1080p HD movies would run smoothly without any interference and lagging problem.

I feel system gets too slow while copying high sized data (around 20 GB) to my HP 250 W, 32 GB pen drive. It affects the normal speed of this laptop and takes extra 3 to 5 seconds to open the at least ‘my computer’.

The Ram expansion is not possible in this laptop, because it’s fully glued on the processor. That means built-in type RAM memory, no upgrading options provided. The overheating completely solved on this version and extra processor cooler fan makes this job better than the previous. The noise level of processor and cooler fan is too low, only heard the slight whirling sound, if you have a completely silent environment. However, it also eliminates the separate notebook cooling fan expense.

You can also play games with Lenovo S20 notebooks without any lag. If your game minimum requirement matches with the specification, just install and starts to play it. I tested this laptop by installing the latest TombRaider and not found any lag. The recommended games are Asphalt 8, Mortal combat, NFS Most Wanted etc.

I should not recommend this notebook, if you are a serious gamer. The main reasons are no high- performing spec, no ram and graphic upgrading and get less battery life, if you override this small system with high-graphics games. It is better to avoid high-end games with Lenovo S20-30 for better performance and battery in future.

Lenovo S20-30 Celeron Review: Display (9/10)

The display is fully HD, 11.6 inch (in diagonal) LED screen, have resolution of 1366x768 pixels. The Intel HD graphics support helps well to make it more crisper and high quality while watching HD pictures, movies and graphics oriented medium-end games. The anti-glare display helps to distractions by faulty lights from the atmosphere.

The matte display outline also helps to reduce the light glare, due to less reflection of light on it. The screen also offers smudge resistance. The top frame of display provided with a 720p HD webcam having great wide angle. It also have built-in microphone, which helps a lot in video calling and personal video recording occasions.

Lenovo S20-30 Celeron Review: Software (8.5/10)

It comes with new and upgraded genuine Windows 8.1 (64-bit), so do not afraid to receive updates from the windows for better performance. The Windows 8.1 has many improvements from the Windows 8 such as provide start button, easy to access of apps, more user-friendly than windows 8 etc. It is comes with pre-installed form and there is no original DVD is provided. If you have any problems or computer unusual errors, use Novo button at the left side as previously mentioned in Design and build section.

Lenovo S20-30 Celeron Review: OTHER FEATURES (8/10)

Storage
The storage capacity of Lenovo S20 is 500 GB, in which 390 GB is completely free for use. The space is taken for installation of operating system, driver and recovery memory. The harddisk type used is that Western Digital Scorpio Blue @5400 rpm. I were experience a slowest speed of 4 MB/s, while copying too many high sized files from one drive to other drive along with AutoCAD drawing works.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity like other laptops, it provides Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet connection support with port. It contains the latest Bluetooth version 4.0 and has Wi-Fi connectivity of Broadcom BCM43142 b/g/n. It support Realtex RTL810E family PCI-E fast Ethernet driver and you can find the Ethernet port left side, near to the ventilation.
Sound
The Lenovo S20 offers Dolby sound with two small two speakers. The sound is not loud as well as bass. Please you don’t have much expectations in terms of S20-30’s sound. I think it is better to use high quality headphone for watching movies or for gaming or listening music with this equipment.
Battery Life
The battery life is satisfactory, get around 6 hours with normal uses like MS office, watching movies, net browsing etc. It uses a 36 Watthour Lithium-ion, removable type. While playing games, found sudden decrease in battery charge (only got avg. life 2.5 hours). The power consumption is less in Lenovo S20-30.

Finally

In the honest review of Lenovo S20-30 Celeron notebook, nice value addition for both office and internet uses. It gets decent battery life up to 5.2 hours in average and has good performance in above-mentioned applications. It is really worth for your money, if you did not expect more than spec of S20. Most irritated thing is that only two USB port at either side; Needs one more USB for connecting an external CD drive with USB connectivity. You can get better laptops or notebooks of different brands, but pays more for the slight increase in their features. The similar products matches with specs are Asus X205TA, ASUS X200MA-KX234D etc.

It have good performance for basic operations like networking, apps, messaging etc. But when you go for multi-tasking operations (e.g: networking + Music player), the tablet performs very slowly and that was very disappointing. It got 7000 mAh capacity battery; I get only gets 6 hours average life per day. If you are looking for tablet for only entertainment and study related document preparation works, it is nice for you.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Review: Design (8/10)

Galaxy Tab 2 is a bigger size android tablet having 256.6 mm in length, 175.3 mm in width and 9.7 mm is thickness. The corners are filled and edges covered with titanium sliver metal. But the back cover is still plastic polymer body and curved slightly backward. It weighs 588 grams and feels heavier while in hands.

Galaxy tablet version 2 has better design than Galaxy Tab 1; look and feels like solid and slim tablet. It is very easy to handle and feels comfortable one. Due to bigger size, I feel more difficult to manage in typing and holding at the same time. But it is not serious problem if you having long fingers.

The right side edge contains main ports and button such as Volume rocker, Power/sleep, 3.5 mm headphone port, microSD slot and IR blaster. The left side contains a dock connector and microphone pinhole. I feel more comfortable and experience the 2-inch vertical stereo speakers, when it held n landscape.

The left and right speakers placed in each side of bezel. The backside is only contains rear camera. The corning gorilla glass protects the screen from scratch, smudges and prevent from shock loads also. Overall, it got a powerful design and build.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Review: Display (8/10)

Galaxy tab 2 contains 10.1-inch diagonal screen size (bigger than 9.7-inch Apple iPad 4) with multi touch capacitive and Plane line switching (PLS) LCD type display. The resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels and having 149 ppi makes display more quality one. click here to know more about PLS TFT Display

The display have better viewing angle like IPS display tablets and better image quality. The color reproduction with 16 M colors is excellent and results pleasing HD display even in lower brightness. Another cool feature of PLS TFt display is that only provides brighter images. Overall, it is perfect for watching movies, eBooks reading, and documentation works.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Review: Software (7/10)

The operating system of Galaxy Tablet 2 is set around Android 4.2 version (jelly bean) and loaded with custom Samsung’s TouchWiz UX user-interface skin. It contains some custom apps especially for entertainment purposes are music hub, game hub and media hub. It also contains built-in screenshot app and mini apps tray; located in bottom of the screen. Other useful apps like calendar, notes, calculator, clock, messaging etc are included in the tab 2 OS. The photo editor apps and document editor/viewer apps are one of the favorite for me. It also support MP4/H.264/Xvid/DivX/MKV video formats and MP/eAAC+/WAV audio formats.

I like the task manager very much, because helpful to closedown background running and unresponsive apps in the easiest way like my PC task manager. The basic look of galaxy tab is not changed and TouchWiz UX UI skin contains some additional options for quick accessing of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Screen rotation, brightness etc.

The Peel’s smart remote app is nice addition which converts your smart tablet to remote control for your TV. You need to enter the TV manufactures name, Zip code, satellite provider info and also note that this app not works with ordinary monitors. Take control of your TVs channel selection with your Tab 2. Click here to Download Pee's Smart Remote app for Android.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Review: Performance (6/10)

Tab 2 10.1 is loaded with dual core, 1 GHz Coretx-A9 processor with 1 GB DDR2 RAM and also contains PowerVR SGX540 graphics processor unit. It improves the performance characteristics from the previous version. The screen swiping and navigation's are very easy without any lagging and much more responsive. You can easily open apps and menu options without any delay. It contains 16 GB internal memory and you can expandable them p to 32 GB using microSD.

The internet browsing is very fast and smooth scrolling in website pages with lower images and ads. If multiple tabs are opened and switching between each tabs feels me some lag. At that time performance is too low and sometime that results sudden closing of web app.

As I said earlier, Samsung galaxy tab 2 is perfect for entertainment purposes like gaming and videos. Both 2D and 3D gaming works perfectly in this tablet without creating any performance defects and better than smartphones. The graphics unit plays well to take processor loads and runs it smoothly with 1GB DDR2 RAM.

The performance issues found while on multitasking like both music and internet browsing, multiple browsing of different websites and also while running 1080p HD videos. Heating issues are not a serious case in the case of this tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Review: Camera (4/10)

The rear camera is only 3 MP without flash light helps to capture pictures of objects around you. It also helps to record 720p HD quality videos suing the rear cam. The pictures captured having a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and Geo-tagging features available. Some pictures are taken using Samsung tab 2 10.1 tablet is shown below.

Due to the low MP of camera results pictures with less quality and not detailed ones. But I got better quality images with bright light conditions, when I provide time for focusing. The front camera is VGA one and not good one, which is used for making video calls. Overall, camera is not a special feature of this expensive tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Review: BatteryLife (5/10)

Samsung Tab 2 offers 7000mAh, Li-Po non-removable type battery having 2000 hours standby and up to 10 hours talktime life. But I got an average battery life up to 6 hours per day (mixed use). The PLS TFT display takes more battery to run on this tablet and keep your screen cuter and quality one. If you reduce the brightness and background apps stopping may improves the battery life. While high graphics gaming it will drains faster than watching movies or internet browsing.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Review: Other Features

Sound Quality
It contains two stereo speakers (2 inch size) at the left and right side of bezel produce good quality sound but not louder one for watching movies. I always need a headphone for watching them without external noises and disturbances.
Network
It having 3G (HSPA) network is available and which is activated by using a MiniSIM. Like other premier android tablets, it also contains Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology for transferring files or networking purposes. The USB 2.0 port helps to connect an additional internet dongle or pendrive to your tablet for data management. The GPS system helps to give geo information’s and effective way to find unknown places with ease. It contains sensors like accelerometer, Gyro and compass.

Finally

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is nice tablet highly recommended for entertainment purposes (Music, Videos, Movies, Readers, Students and Gamers) for all age categories. The IR blaster is unique feature in it but the product is too over priced for the features provided. In the current situation (at launch times $400), it costs around $270 dollar and still it higher priced.

For the lower price, the Asus Transformer TF300 tablet provides high end specs than Galaxy tab 2. It provides 8 MP rear camera, quad-core processor, micro-HDMI cable support, 32 GB internal memory and improved batterylife (average up to 9.5 hours). The competitor got better specification than Galaxy tab 2 with lower prices.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Review: Average Low Price Android Tablet

What is Lenovo IdeaTab A2107?

If you are looking for smaller tablet pc for entertainment purpose while on travel, Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 is good choice. It is good for using in bus or train to see movies or listen music, because of the 7 inch size make it more portable than 9-10 inch bigger sized tablets like Samsung Galaxy Tab 2(10.1). The design is highly portable and very handy one. But, coming to performance, even basic navigation have small amount of lag found. It supports two dual GSM SIM’s; only support the data connectivity both 3G and 2G networks. It is too cheap to buy and is best for reading and watching movies (needs headphones to avoid noises).

Let us see Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 tablet PC review in detail.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Review: Design (7/10)

One of the useful feature of IdeaTab A2107 is differ from bigger sized tablets is portability. Because of 7-inch size and light weight (400 grams only) makes it easier to handle with one hand. It is 19.5 cm in length, 12.5 cm is width and 1.1 cm in thickness. The body is not that much impressive due to plastic body, but provides better grips to hands.

The top edge contains the power on/off button, charging/USB port and 3.15 mm audio jack. The battery is built-in type and only top back portion is slide to open it. At the back portion, top center contains 3.15 MP rear camera; left side contains microSD slot and dual GSM SIM slots at right side. The back bottom portion contains two speakers also. Overall, it got a portable design and good build quality.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Review: Display (4/10)

The cheap priced tablets display is not always impressive one like IdeaTab A2107. It got ordinary TFT LCD screen having a resolution of 600 x 1204 pixels and 170 ppi pixel densities. Due to lower resolution the display is not pleasing to eye at lower brightness. I also felt a contrast shift while held at different angles. In case of lower budget tablet displays, Samsung Tab 2 (7.0) and Amazon Kindle Fire got much improved than Lenovo’s IdeaTab.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Review: Performance (5/10)

As compared with its main competitor (Google Nexus 7) processor, 1 GHz dual core with 1 GB RAM is less powerful. Because the Quad-core Tegra 3 processor of Nexus 7 performing better than IdeaTab’s Coretx A9 CPU. I felt the tablet pc is little slower in basic navigation and lag in apps opening time. The Android v4.0 Ice Cream sandwich OS is doesn’t help much to improving the speed and response.

The jelly bean upgrading will slightly improves it but not hopeful speed of performance. The 2D gaming like angry birds, Puzzle games etc are works fine and only loading takes more time. The PowerVR SGX531 graphics processor unit controls and processes the graphics quality well and supports the processor to handle the media loads. The webpage scrolling also have more lag and not that browsing friendly as compared with Galaxy Tab2 and Nexus 7. But its storage capacity is expandable by using microSD card up to 32 GB; not in Nexus 7 tablet.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Review: Software (6/10)

It fisrt comes with Android Ice creme sandwich operating system looks good and ease to use. When you upgrading to Android v4.1 jelly bean, you get improved user interface and more apps availability than previous one. But the disappointment in speed is not improved. The basics apps like calculator, Messaging, email, internet browsers, document viewer /e, Photo viewer/editor etc are included. It also support MP 4/H.264 video and MP3/AAC/WMV/WAV formats.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Review: Camera (4/10)

The IdeaTab A2107 contains two cameras, one in front and other in rear. The 3.1 MP rear camera captures images and results good quality images only at bright sunlight conditions. The manufactures offer s720p video recording, but I don’t get good quality videos from rear cam. The front camera is VGA type and helpful for video calling; no quality images or videos captured. Nexus 7 tablet got better camera than IdeaTab.

Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Review: Other features

Like other android tablets it contains Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity including the hotspot tethering feature. It also has 3G and 2G GSM network support. Both the SIM slots support 2G, but only one slot accepts 3G. The device only allows use the data connection and not support voice calling.

The two stereo speakers are included in this tablet, but the volume and sound quality is not good. I prefer noise cancelling headphones while watching movies.

It contains non-removable Li-ion battery with 3550 mAh battery capacity provides average life of 7 hours per day. If you are using this tab for internet browsing, charge will drain faster than video playing.

Final Words

Like android low budget tablet, Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 is an average choice. Because of the slower performance, the usage of this tablet is limited to watching movies and reading purposes. The camera quality is very low and not good for both 3D gaming and internet browsing. If you need mixed usage go for better tablet. For the same price range better tablet pc’s are available like Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch with 4G LTE connectivity.

Let us see the honest review of HP V250W USB flash memory in very detailed manner.

What is HP V250W Pen drive?

The HP V250W is a metallic bodied pen drive with compact and lightweight design. The performance is simply amazing, as compared with Sandisk Cruzer Blade and Sandisk Cruzer Force. It’s manufactured by HP, which is a famous electronics brand; creates high performing computers, laptops, printers, scanners and storage gadgets. It released on July 2013 and has good rating in India. The build and design quality are excellent. It have better read and write speed than other famous pen drive manufactures such as SanDisk, Kingston, Transcend etc. The available storage sizes of V250W model are 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32 GB. There is no color available other than sliver.

Our Recommendations:-

Both for Home and professional users

HP V250W Review: Design&Build (9.5/10)

In terms of design, HP V250W has slim design constructed using stainless steel metal casing enables the high durability. The complete casing is covered with this metal and has sliver colored glossy finish. The metallic covering also protects it from wear and tear problems. The pen drive sizes around 46.6 mm in length, 15.8 mm in width and has 5 mm thickness. You could call it as ultra slim pen drive, due to only 5mm thick. It is lightweight flash memory, weighs around 11.5g only.

The metallic karabiner design, at the top end of the HP V250W provide easy carrying with you by strapping on your pocket or use it as your bikes keychain or handbags clip etc. Because of smaller size, it will easy to lose from your hand or pocket. But the flexible hook design secure it by providing the provision of strapping or clipping.

The USB 2.0 insert portion edges are straight metal body, which can be easily insert in to and out with less tightness. If you are beginner, you could not feel any difficulty to insert it into the USB port without damaging the port.
Tip!: If you feel tightness, while inserting pen drive into the USB port, then press it gently. Otherwise, it damages the USB port.

The build quality of HP V250W is excellent and manufactured well as compared to other usb flash drives. The strength of pen drive body is high as compared with plastic bodied pen drives of Verbatim, SanDisk etc. It drops from a 0.75 meter height from my table and results no problem, works fine. Overall, the metallic bodied, ultra compact and slim design with karabiner provides high portability and strength. The only con found is that no LED light indications for knowing the transferring process.

HP V250W Review: Performance (9.3/10)

The HP V250W pen drive is made of USB 2.0 version, which  can provide satisfactory transferring speed as compared with Sandisk Cruzer blade, Verbatim Store ‘n’ Go and Sandisk Cruzer Force. It uses plug and play functionality. So, you just need to connect it with your USB port, it will automatically install within microseconds and ready for use. The HP offers read speed of 25 MB/s and write speed of 8 MB/s for the 8GB to 32GB storage pen drives. I got a read speed around maximum of 26 MB/s and average speed of 20 MB/s in my Dell XPS 15 Laptop. I also tested with Lenovo S20-30 notebook, shows the average read speed of 22 MB/s, while transferring 1 GB data to the notebook.

While writing 10 GB data to V250W flash drive from my notebook, shows around 3 MB/s in average speed. The write speed is depends on many factors your RAM memory, processor speed, USB port type and transferring data size and type. I also tested the write speed with my dell XPS 15, by using a 10 GB same data and got around 5 MB/s in average (Only copying process).
Tip!: If you are try to copy bigger files to flash memory, it is better to free your RAM memory by closing high load applications.

People know about the USB 2.0 ports capability and speed characteristics. It is very less expensive as compared with USB 3.0 series. Therefore, these pen drives are very low in cost and provide better service for the money.

HP V250W Review: Storage (9/10)

In this review, we choose to review 32GB storage space one that I already have. It specifies the 32 GB size, but only 29 GB is free for storage. The 3GB is used to installation of the hp driver software. The other storage options available are 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB.

HP V250W Review: Miscellaneous (9/10)

The HP V250W is works perfectly on operating systems such as Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Mac OS 10.3 and higher versions. The plug and play software easily installed on these OS and quickly read for the storage purposes. It also works on USB devices like DVD players, modern music systems, smartphones (If you have OTG cable or converter) etc.

For this model, HP provides up to 2 year limited warranty. In pen drives, I think SanDisk provide maximum warranty period up to 5 year other than Verbatim and HP brands.

Final Words

The HP V250W has ultra slim design, light in weight, provide satisfactory read, and write speed than the SanDisk flash memory. The USB 2.0 provides enough speed for your both office and home uses. It is also a low budget pen drive, which costs around $15 dollars. As compared with SanDisk cruzer blade ($7.5)) and cruzer force ($8), price is high but better performance than the previous ones. The disadvantage found about HP V-250W is no LED indications, lack of USB 3.0 version and only 29GB space available for storage. If you are looking for USB 2.0 pendrive with decent transferring speed and build quality, HP v-250W is best suitable for you. In my opinion, it is really worth for your money. However, high-speed USB 3.0 flash drives are available in the online market. They are very expensive as compared with USB 2.0 flash memory drives.

Apple iPad 4 Honest Review: Great Design, Better Display than iPad 3

Hi, friends, this is my first hands-on review in “HonetsReviewNet” website about iPad 4 tablet. Here I discuss about the key features like design, performance, touch screen, camera, detailed specifications and best prices, from personal experience with iPad 4 tablets. Please read full review and feel free to comment about both review and iPad 4 also. Let’s begin with an introduction.

What is iPad 4?

Apple iPad 4 Review

iPad 4 is simply amazing. It is specially designed for people who like to use and carry high performing pc tablet on their hands. The Apple 4th generation iPad have updated with new processor, operating system, RAM and harddisk from the iPad 3. Many improvements make it more comfortable and provide faster performance than iPad 3. I heard one of friend opinion about iPad 3 is heating issue when using internet or gaming apps. In the 4th generation it is completely free from heating and I got up to 12 hours average battery life while continuous (at very small intervals b/w usage time) internet usage only.

iPad 4 Key Features:-
9.7 inch, Retina Display; Apple A6 Processor with additional PowerVR graphics driver; 5MP rear and 1.2 MP front camera; Apple iOS 6.0; 10 hours battery life.

The Pros
  • Great retina display
  • Excellent design
  • Faster performance
  • Value for money
The Cons
  • Only Lighting connector supported
  • No flash light
  • No microSD card support
Ok, Let us see the one by one feature in depth about iPad 4th generation.

iPad 4 Review: Design (9/10)

Indeed considering the design of Apple iPad 4 is similar in iPad 3 while looking in front view, but at the backside, well-filleted curves towards downward (viewing from top) covered with vinyl aluminum coating at the back. Both combination of front glass with aluminum curvy back, feels like pretty tough and solid. I do not know, have you noticed it. If you not just try this. Place your iPad 4 on table and look at it from the top. You cannot see the side buttons or aluminum color, other than glassy white or black front surface (depends on color).

About Size, have 23.75 cm in length, 18.3 cm in width and 0.925 cm thick. The semi-rectangular appearance makes it differ from tablets like surface RT or Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. The touch screen is outlined by around 5 cm thick white or black, depends upon which color you choose to buy and fully covered with perfectly transparent glass with glare protection. The glass covering solves the user’s eyestrain and scratch problems up to certain limits.

It weighs around 0.6 Kg (1.4 pounds), feels like little bit heavy. However, it is easy to handle with one hand and no time limit applies to hold it with one hand. The 4th generation is also inflexible in nature. iPad 4 have less buttons, you can found on the side curvy surface as compared with Microsoft Surface RT. The buttons are power on/off, volume control and screen rotation lock.

Only one button is seeing at the front lower surface for controlling the whole operations inside the iPad 4. The lighting connector port is just below the previous button mentioned and found on the curvy surface. There is an audio output or headphone jack at the top-left curvy surface of tablet, where you can plug 3.15 mm audio jack.

As design conclusion, feel some bigger in size and weight as compared with a smartphone, but easy to handle and have a portable design as compared with carrying a notebook or laptop.  If you are, love to see movies, play games, read books and browse internet in bigger screen, Apple iPad 4 is best suits to you.

iPad 4 Review: Performance (8/10)

The performance is really improved than iPad 3, loaded with new processor “Dual-core, 1.4GHz, Apple A6X” have great graphics and processor performance. The Apple A6X contains 32-bit PoP type chip on the board, which features twice-faster performance than Apple A5. This processor is first includes in iPhone 5 and have great success. So it also used in iPad 4, you can experience the performance power and speed while using the apps, internet browsing and gaming.

It has 1 GB RAM with single inline memory module type (SIMM), which enhances the physical memory capacity and helps to speedup process. The Quad core coprocessor, “PowerVR SGX543MP4” which helps to handle processing of images, videos, games, controls the graphics and graphics supported apps in your iPad operating system. The camera speed and efficiency are improved because of advanced image signal processor (ISP) than Apple A5. ISP enables to speeding up picture capture, less noises, maintain performance even in low light and stabilize the videos while recording.

In terms of performance, iPad 4 is double times in front of iPad 3. The quick opening apps, browsing speed without delay and continues flow of gaming and movies without any lag and less heating issues are better performance features of 4th generation iPad’s.

iPad 4 Review: Display (9/10)

iPad 4 uses the new Retina display owned by Apple Inc. It contains resolution of 2048x1536 pixels and 264 pixels per inch (ppi) which is twice ppi as compared with iPad mini 2 and iPad mini. One of the main benefits of retina display is that more sharper, crystal clear and crisp screen having more detail while looking on images or letters in the user-interface. The human eye cannot detect the images detail, when it having more pixel density. Retina display makes screen more user-friendly and less strain to human eyes.

The touch screen is very sensitive and only very pressure is needed to select each task in the screen. The screen size is around 9.7 inches in diagonal, more enough to enjoy game as well as browsing in bigger interface.

Only con of retina display in iPad is that higher price than the LED display in other tablets. This display feature is the root cause of increased weights, due to more power needed to keep it alive. Overall, more friendly display and sensible touch screen without any distraction.

iPad 4 Review: Storage (8.5/10)

The storage option of iPad 4th generation is ranges from 16 to 128 GB. The harddisk is solid-state drive type which is more faster in operation and ease to access and save contents in it. SSD drives are more efficient than traditional HDD’s, because it have no mechanical moving parts and only have chips with magnetic coating. The electronics storing technology of SSD stores data, in the absence of power.

The boot speed of iPad 4 is enhanced and overall performance improved than previous version. Only problem is the SSD’s are very expensive than traditional HDD. The price is going marginally upward with size of SSD. Another con about storage I found is that no external microSD card support. You cannot add additional storage other than basic storage capacity of the device. If you willing to buy 32 GB or 64 GB iPad 4, no need of external cards. In my experience, 16 GB is enough for business and home uses.

iPad 4 Review: Software (OS) (7/10)

Apple iOS 6 is the OS of iPad 4 and having new features as compared to iOS 5.0 versions. In new version of iOS 6 have major updates on their user-interface and main apps like maps, safari browser, Siri, Facebook Integration, Passbook app, FaceTime etc. The user-interface is well arranged with apps, only need a touch to open and you can swipe into side ways to move to other pages of apps.

To come back immediately to home, press the lower button having symbol of rectangle. The maps app navigation features are improved from the previous one and real-time traffic details, 3D view of buildings, flyover views etc. Siri is updated with more relevant details in your area and now it aloes have multi language user-interface, supports French, Spanish, Italian rather than English.

With new iOS 6 Facebook integration is more effective in iPad 4 and now you can share photos and videos immediately on Facebook. The enhanced Safari browser allows offline reading option. It saves the webpage or material as you wanted to read later without consuming single MB of your SIM data. The photo uploading option also available indie the browser and just take pic and share without exiting the browser.

iPad 4 Review: Camera (7.5/10)

With camera of iPad 4 is such as great experience as compared with Samsung Tab 2. The 5 Mega pixel rear camera, automatically focus the object and fast processing of images with great quality. The image taken using the camera are found to be more natural and it automatically adjust light situation and prevent from over exposure, results less noise images. I feel some difficulty is dark room photo shooting.

Due to absence of flash makes the image more noisy and low quality. The video recording using the rear cam offers 1080p hd recording features. The size of video too big and depends on the video length.

The front camera has 1.2 Megapixel offers 720p HD quality while video calling using FaceTime apps. It provides more clear and detail of your friend face. This front cam does not have any flash, which affects chatting quality if the light is low.

iPad 4 Review: Battery Life (7/10)

iPad 4 is also best in the battery life as compared with iPad mini, iPad 2, Samsung tab2. It provides average of 10 hours with retinal display. That was huge surprise for me, because retina display consumes more power to keep alive. However, the iPad 4 battery (LiPo) size little bit increased to meet the display quality and thereby battery life. The gaming may reduce your charge to 6-7 hours and it lasts up to a week if it is in standby mode. As for the iPad 4, I give full points to batterylife, because it keeps the display quality as well as process duration at the same time.

iPad 4 Review: Other Features (8/10)

In this tablet, only one all in one Lighting connector can be use to connect the iPad 4 with PC, TV, card reader, as a charger etc. The lighting connector is not just, like universal microUSB port in other tablets have and little bit different from it. If you want to connect your iPad with TV, you require HDMI cable (not included), need to buy from the iPad accessories. Like this, other functions like card reading and USB port needs additional accessories costs additionally. However, you can use the charger as for all apples mobiles and tablets are one of the plus points, if you have them.

New iPad 4 supports microSIM (1 No’s) and have Wi-Fi with 3G/4G connectivity. You can have control over the 3G data usage like most of the new generation smartphones have. MicroSIM feature is good for people who have smartphones like Samsung Galaxy, Nokia Lumia 625 etc. Because you can switch the SIM between tablet and phone.

Final Words

In the design and performance ways, iPad 4 is a hero as compared with iPad 3. It not light weighing and thinner than the precious one, but the retinal display makes it classier tablet. I have suggestion is that the apple need to change lighting connector to universal microUSB type, as other tablets have.

The new iOS 6 interface is looking good, easy to use, and completely filled with useful apps only. I also feel lack of support of many apps found on internet. The build quality and design are amazing. The price is too high for 16 GB size and it adds up more and more while selecting 32 GB or 128 GB.

In my experience 16 GB is enough for users who likes to watch movies, using internet, music and gaming. When considering gaming, you need a lot space, because some of the iPad games size is around 1.7 GB. It cannot bet considered as full replacement of your laptop, due to the lacks of low RAM, Graphics, USB ports and external storage expansion. Overall, it’s worth for money and satisfaction with apples product.

What is Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen)?

Moto E 2nd Gen is very good, low price mobile phone, which provides better performance and batterylife than other budget smartphones. It is loaded with 1.2 GHz,Qualcomm 8212 Snapdragon 200 series 4-core processor with 1 GB RAM and have graphics processing unit of Adreno 302 makes it more faster and smoother in operation. The latest Android V5.0.2 Lollipop improves the user-interface of 2nd generation moto e and it is looks great as compared with others. It also provides 8 GB internal storage memory.

However, it is very disappointing me as comes to camera and networking features. Front camera is VGA and has only 0.3 Mega pixel results low image quality for selfies. It supports up to 3G networks. Therefore, in my opinion, it does not provide any value to the current market situation. Because the other competitors such as Lenovo A6000, Xiaomi Redmi 2 etc provide LTE (4G) network with same price range. Now Moto E 2nd generation 4G smartphones are available at online stores of Amazon (USA), Flipkart (India) or from Motorola’s official website.

Overall, Moto E 2nd Gen (3G) is good smartphone with decent performance and good batterylife. The Lollipop update makes this phone more user-friendly and quick access of different options like notifications, camera etc. It’s recommended for first-time users.

Moto E 2nd Gen Review: Design&Build (8/10)

New Motorola’s Moto E 2nd generation is quite different from competitors (Redmi 2 & A6000) design. It has curvy design with center portion have more thickness than side. Unlike th bar form design of competitors, Moto E choose the curvy design which looks nice and smarter. It is 129.9 mm in length and 66.8 mm in width.

Due to the curvy design, center portion is 12.3 mm thick and both sides are 5.2 mm. The filleted corners and curved back enhances the look of this budget smartphone. The sides are completely covered with rubberized grip, which provides easy handling, portability and single-handed use. The rubberized grips are also available in various colors.

It looks like solid mobile phones with shock absorbing ad portable design fits in your pocket. The weight is around 145 grams which more than Lenovo A6000. The display screen is covered by corning gorilla glass 3, which is much more resistant against damage and scratch.

It contains native damage resistance feature provides toughness to display glass and resistance power improved up to 3 times than gorilla glass 2. Anti-smudge coating enables the resistance against the water contents and smudge particles. It provides a provision for easy cleaning of your screen and helps to avoid additional expense of buying new screen guard.

The power and volume buttons are arranged in the right side of phone as mentioned order and very easy to access single hand. The two-microSIM slots are arranged at the backside and find microSD card slot. The headphone jack is find the Top center portion and microUSB port at bottom center.

Overall, these design features provides unique look as compared with other bar formed low price smartphone. In terms of design and build, Moto E second generation is scores 8 out of 10 on honest review.net.

Moto E 2nd Gen Review: Performance (7/10)

The performance of Motorola Moto E (2nd gen) is satisfactory for operations like apps launch times, user-interface usage smoothing, internet browsing etc. It have Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 series processor with cloak speed of 1.2 GHz, quad-core central processing unit combines with 1 GB RAM provides constant performance throughout the phone features as compared with A6000. The android Lollipop has 64-bit user-interface runs smoother on this device without any lag.

Read More: SoC Smartphone Processors

Due to the Quad-core threads, the multitasking ability is improved as compared to post version of Moto E. Example for multitasking is net browsing by listening music. Snapdragon 200 series processor have RISC design, means reduced instruction set computing which makes it more faster execution and processing of data’s.

The performance is also depends on the display feature of your phone. The Moto E 2nd gen have Adreno 302 (400 MHz) graphics processing unit, which takes the display load of 64 bit android and results enhanced images and views.

For the Normal use, moto E is superb in performance and while switching on to video games (high end or low), that loads faster but uses more RAM for gaming and also drains the battery as compared with other processes. With Moto E 2nd gen, shutdown other opened apps before starting to play games on it.

Internet browsing is very easy and feels no lag for loading small sites. If you are loading higher image and ads site more data and slight lag feels during the webpage scrolling.

Overall, Moto E 2nd generation (2014) provides decent performance with 1 GB RAM for normal apps usage and internet browsing. High end gaming is quite difficult with this low price mobile phone. In my suggestion, if you are looking for smartphone for gaming purpose, better to move on the high-end specifications. If you want higher performance specs within this price range, you can prefer A600 or Redmi 2.
Note:- Do not look over the benchmark scores for buying Smartphone’s. It would not tell the complete story of any of features inside the smartphone. So, try to read honest reviews of mobile phones before making a decision.

Moto E 2nd Gen Review: Display (6/10)

Motorola Moto E 2014 have 4.5 inch LCD IPS display, with very low resolution 540 x 960 pixels while, Lenovo a6000 and redmi 2 provides 720p which looks more better than the moto E’s display. It have around 245 ppi (pixel density); better than Lumia 625.

The display looks more smooth, sharp and have good color combination that nicely suits with Android Lollipop interface. The light reflection is less and nice to see at various angles. Overall, display is good but not excellent, because A6000 and Redmi 2 provide much more enhanced display within this price range.

Moto E 2nd Gen Review: Software (10/10)

The new android version 5.0.2 called Lollipop is now runs on the Motorola Moto E 2015 smartphone, which is extremely smooth without any lag. The new android version have several interface improvements such as notifications at front screen, quick camera capture feature etc. The menu components, top screen drag, opened apps cascading etc are very nice . Totally user-interface much more improved in Lollipop update of Android.

The touchscreen effects are also improved and instant than kitkat version. In the kitkat version, the notifications access only through top drag menu. It is difficult one while Bluetooth date transferring, because file accept notifications comes to this drag menu. Only regular users knows the how to access notifications. In the Lollipop update, android provides solution and now onwards notifications can access from your lock screen. The new operating system (OS) more user-friendly and easy to access the setting with less touch moves.

Moto E 2nd Gen Apps
Basic apps installed are phone book, Googleplay store, Gmail, YouTube, Google chrome, Motorola assist, Motorola migrate, Moto music players, video players etc. Googleplay store is more useful one helps to buy or free download apps you needed. The wide range of apps collection is main advantage of Android phones over other OS such as iOS, Windows 8.1 or Blackberry. Phone book memory is an in-built app, which manages the phone contacts, call logs, and dial features.

Moto E 2nd Gen Review: Camera (6/10)

It has 5 MP rear and 0.3 MP front camera, which did well on the bright light conditions. The 5 MP camera, f/2.2 lens aperture with no LED flash works better in good light conditions and helps to take detailed photos of object as you want. The focusing is completely automatic. To take photos, just need to tap on the camera screen interface and automatically focus and take shots. Bright light shots are looks better than low light pictures. Rear camera also offers 4X digital zoom. Auto HDR helps to get more enhanced photos with well-balanced light.

The front camera only 0.3 MP, which is really disappointing one. It takes only VGA quality (low detailed) photos, but their processing speed is very high.

The camera also offers 30 fps, 480p HD video recording with auto focus feature and recording video quality is also depends upon the light conditions. That is good quality videos produced only with bright light conditions only, otherwise results bad quality.

Moto E 2nd Gen Review: Battery (7/10)

This smartphone have 2390 mAh battery capacity, which is slightly larger than Redmi 2 and A6000 (2300 mAh). The batterylife is improved as compared with Moto E 1st generation device, mainly due to android lollipop update. The new android OS have battery saver feature extends the use by up to 90 minutes. It also calculates the estimated time needed for full charging of your device.

In my experience, batterylife up to 28 hours for mixed use. The battery is drains more for internet and gaming usage. The phone calling, music player and videos etc will take less charge as compared with internet usage.

Moto E 2nd Gen Review: Other Features (8/10)

Network
This model of Moto E supports both 3G and 2G networks and has no 4G support. Latest version Moto E with 4G LTE support is available on the online market. The supported networks are GSM/GPRS/EDGE (Global band series 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) and UMTS/HSPA (850, 900, 1800, 1900,2100 MHz). It supports dual sim cards at a time, both of them are microSIM. The 1st microsim slot provides both 3G and 2G, while 2nd sim slot only provides 2G network. This phone also supports location services such as GPS, AGPS and GLONASS.
Connectivity
Moto E 2nd generation has 4 types of external connectivity options such as Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, microUSB and 3.5mm headphone jack. It uses the latest Bluetooth technology of version 4.0 LE makes the data transfer more secure and speedy manner. It also uses Wi-Fi of 802.11b/g/n, easily detect the other Wi-Fi networks. The tethering feature helps to data transfer and internet connectivity much faster as compared to local Bluetooth transfer. For faster data transfer, needs tethering apps such as Xender or Shareit. There is no support of NFC like Sony Xperia L and Xperia Z. NFC means near filed communications. NFC enabled phones only needs a phone body to body touch for data transferring.
Storage
Moto E 2nd Generation has internal storage memory (ROM) of 8 GB, which is expandable up to 32 GB.
Speakers
It has Loudspeaker produce good sound quality and also provides headset, which is also good. It is great addition with this low price smartphone. Phone call quality is excellent. It also offers 2-mic support for calling features. External or removable storage memory of 16 GB or 32 GB recommended. Because increased use or filling of internal memory causes more processor overloading and ram usage. It wills reduce the mobile phone performance and results ultimate lag for all kind operations. To avoid this better to use external removable storage device such as Transcend 32GB micro SD Class 10 or Sandisk 8 GB class 4 or Samsung 16 GB MicroSD.
Sensors
It contains sensors such as Accelerometer (x2), Ambient Light, Proximity and Sensor Hub.

Finally

Moto E 2nd Gen is good smartphone have decent performance, good batterylife and improved new android lollipop operating system. It is very easy to use even for beginner. It is not high end specs phone not recommend for gamers.

It is highly recommend for Smartphone beginners and normal users. You can get better performance spec mobile phone within this price range are Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Lenovo A6000. However, if you are beginner or careless, not recommend because screen size higher, which result bigger size phone; difficult to handle as compared with Moto E 2nd Generation. Also 4G supported version now available on the market.

This is an entry level Smartphone with lowest prices offers 4G LTE network support to take over the mobilephone market all over the world. Because the Xiaomi Redmi 2, Huwaei Honor holly and Moto E 2nd gen are the main competitors which only offer 3G network and also have more down side as compared with Lenovo A6000 smartphone.

At the first look I loved this phone because got cute look and slim design. It got my first impression at the time of unboxing the packet. It is also very light in weight and handy device with nice grip at the back. The 5 inch IPS display makes the screen more colorful and provides crisp HD quality display through the screen. The New Lenovo Vibe UI 2.0 interface with the Kitkat version of android makes it more user-friendly mobilephone to users.

It also powers Qualcomm snapdragon 410, quad core processor with Adreno 306 graphics processor and 1 GB RAM, speedup the multitasking up to limit. The basic apps functions are works smoothly with android Kitkat operating system. But I feel a slight lag is feels by operating internet browser with 6 or more tabs. You can play up to medium graphics games without any lag, but not good for high graphics 3D gaming. It provides 8GB internal storage memory and has provision to expand memory up to 32 GB microSD memorycard.

The 8MP rear camera with LED flash captures high quality pictures in bright light condition and also does well in medium light. The front camera (2MP) is good for getting selfies and both provide HD video recording at 720p quality.

Lenovo A6000 have removable 2300 mAH capacity battery provides up to 28 hours batterylife for mixed use. The battery drains more while playing games and using Wi-Fi hotspot networking. It also loaded with Dolby 2X stereo speaker which provides loud sound with good bass. The internal speaker provides nice call sound quality.

Overall, Lenovo A6000 is nice low price smartphone with attractive design and performance. It is too good up to intermediate level of multitasking. The camera is good to take some quality pictures and HD video recording of objects at day light. It is recommended for android beginner users and people who want to take some pictures, continuously browse through the internet, watching movies and experiencing high quality music’s. See this phone on Lenovo's Official Website.

Like our website name, let us see the honest review of Lenovo A6000 Smartphone in very detailed manner.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Design (8/10)

Lenovo has managed to make the A6000 is good looking phone with glossy black finish screen when looking at the front. The front glass covers the full screen dimension. The manufactures more care about the design to provide great finish and smoother look to the smartphone. It is 141 mm in length, 70 mm in width and only 8.2 mm in thickness.

It also weighs around 128 grams and feels very light weight while on hands. The side corners are filleted with small radius and edges are flat and sharp retains the glossy black color. The back cover is made-up of plastic polymer and also black in color, but vinyl type. It also provide good grip at back and makes it easier to handle.

At the front glass contains front camera, sensors and phone internal speaker at the top face and Home, details and back button. The rear camera is located at the top left side with LED flash light just below it and two stereo Dolby speakers at the down side of the back body cover.

The right side edges contains the volume rocker and power ON/OFF button, helps to easy access of buttons with one hand and also frees the left side edge unlike Samsung smartphones.

The top edge contains the 3.5 mm audio jack port and microUSB charging and data transferring port. The microSD card, Dual microSIM and battery slots are located by removing the back cover.

A6000 has slim and light weight design than Redmi 2, Moto E and Honor holly. The black color provides an elegant look to the phone, but the front screen has affection to smudges. While using it, the finger prints and other smudge particles are easily stick on the screen. Because of that, need to clean always using a cloth.

The screen is doesn’t protected with corning gorilla glass and you need to buy an additional screen guard for it. But, Lenovo knows people needs and protection of their product screen. So, they include a screenguard in the product box and save some money of the buyers. I think Lenovo avoids the Gorilla glass new versions for making it on a budget price range. The charger set (adapter + microUSB cable) and headphone set are white colored and easily become dirty on continues usage.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Display (9/10)

Lenovo A600 have 5 inch with in plane screen panel (IPS) provides the great viewing angles nearly at 180 degree. The color combinations (16M) are bright and sharp in the LCD display and also have reduced black levels. The 1280 x 720 resolution with 294 ppi makes the display more crisper and high definition quality.

The display is excellent for watching videos (because of the large screen) and pictures of high resolution (720p). It uses Lenovo Vibe 2.0 User interface to display menus and supporting apps which are completely modified by the Lenovo. I used this mobilephone to watch Blu-ray videos (1080p) using MXplayer and reading eBooks of stories and textbooks with complete satisfaction.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Performance (8/10)

Update: Don't install android lollipop 5.0 OS system update on A6000 device. My system is completely stuck and performance is too low as compared to Kitkat version. It supports Lollipop 5.0 OS, the configuration is not enough to take the advanced OS. This update also consumes lot of your internal memory and regular apps update make it more and more slow. But lollipop is an amazing OS which is very user friendly and attractive than Android Kitkat.

The performance is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) in addition with Adreno 306 graphics processor unit. It have 64 bit processor architecture and 1 GB RAM or physical memory make it faster in each operations. The quad core cortex A53 part of the processor enables the multitasking features and home screen and apps loaded without any lag.

Lenovo A6000 basic operations like phone navigation, web browsing, phone calling, musicplayer, videoplayer etc are working smoothly with 1 GB RAM. But sometimes I feel some lag while overloading it with both music and web browsing with multiple tags. It has cleanup system which helps to free the memory and speedup the system.

The advanced level usage is supported up to an intermediate level. You can play 3D games with intermediate graphics without any lag. While loading high graphics game, may be feel system is too slow. Thus, it is not recommend for high size and graphics gaming. If you are gamer try for high end smartphones such as Samsung Note 3 or Galaxy S6 etc.

The Lenovo A6000 has an internal memory of 8GB and it is expandable up to 32 GB by using a microSD card. The Lenovo A6000 plus has improved 16 GB internal memory and 2 GB RAM now available on online market.

The heating issues are less found on A6000. I only feels more only on internet usage. This mobilephone is almost free from the heating issues and overall, provides a great performance.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Camera (7/10)

It has 8MP rear camera at the backside with LED flash. The camera is good for capturing pictures or scenes at good and bright light conditions. The picture quality is too good and at lower light conditions the picture side corners become slightly filled with noises. At lower light conditions, picture quality becomes lowered, but in small room the LED flash helps to get the objects with average quality. The front camera has 2 MP and great for taking selfies at best light conditions, otherwise the picture will too noisy and doesn’t look good. It is more helpful for people make video calling and fun chatting.
Cerdits:Tonasam/stockvault
Both front and back camera allows to record videos at 720p resolution. Both cameras provide HD video recording with less noise only at bright lights and sound quality is also good.

The HDR feature helps to take landscapes images by controlling the exposure of the light. I think some improvements needed in HDR to controlling the shadows and highlights.

I also use rear camera for taking pictures of flowers and landscapes for my free stock photography purposes. I had submitted many photos in free stock photography websites likes Stockvault and FreeRangeStock. The pictures with good focus and exposure are accepted and noisy ones simply rejected. So, try to take pictures only at good light conditions.

I also struggle with the camera shot button inside display. While pressing it, phone become little bit shake and captured picture quality lowered. I have suggestion to Lenovo is that try to add an additional camera button at the lower right edge as like in Nokia Lumia 625 or Sony Xperia Z1.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Software (7/10)

The android 4.4 optimizes the user interface for speedy performance and nice user experience. It also enhances the touch screen response and help to save the battery life in a smarter way. Mainly the Kitkat interface is loaded with Lenovo’s Vibe 2.0 skin which provides some different looks like no separate menu, top drag menu, bottom drag customization menu, direct camera accessing and wallpaper changing. You can also group the each app in a folder. It has some pre-loaded apps (Guvera) and games like Asphalt 8, Frog HD etc.

Another cool features of A6000 is that Lenovo Doit apps such as Sync it, Security, Shareit and Customized UC browser. The Syncit helps to backup your all SMS, phone contactbook and call logs. The security app provides complete security from virus and malware attacks and also have anti-theft protection features. The ShareIt app enables the Wi-Fi tethering (data transfer through Wi-Fi) to Android, Windows or iOS devices.

The different audio profiles of phone can quickly access by using volume rocker button. Just press the volume up or down button and select the profile (General/Silent/Meeting/outdoor). Overall, the android kitkat with Vibe 2.0 UI is more colorful and provides very pleasing users eye. I have suggestion to improve the user interface and need to add some more useful customized apps.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Sound Quality (9/10)

This smartphone have built-in two stereo speakers are located at the backside which are controlled by Digital Dolby plus app technology. The sound quality is very good and has decent bass. The loudness well worked in room or less noise spaces.

But outside sound is very less due to the speaker design at back side. If your phone in normal resting position, it is difficult to hear the ringing music of the phone. Call quality is excellent and have crisp and clear voice quality in detail. It supports vibration, MP3 and WAV format ringtones.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Battery Life (8/10)

The Lenovo A6000 contains removable type battery of capacity 2300 mAh. According to manufactures specifications, it offers up to 264 hours for stand-by and up to 22 hours talktime (both 3G and 2G network). I tested for batterylife by mixed uses (internet, music player, videos, calling, chat etc), got around 19 hours batterylife. I found battery drains more at higher brightness level, internet and Wi-Fi usage.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Features (8/10)

The supported networks connectivity is 4G LTE, 3G and 2G networks. Currently I lived in India and m place not have any LTE network range. I tested with HSPA and GSM networks and found charge will drain more while using 3G. The data speed is excellent, the primary SIM slot support 4G/3G and secondary SIM slot only for 2G networks. Both are the microSIMs.

The other connectivity features are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot sharing, Bluetooth 4.0 (tethering), GPS, FM radio and microUSB 2.0. The GPS is nice value addition because it works offline (without internet connection) to find new city. It is controlled directly from the satellite and guide you in the perfect path. The web browser is HTML 5 supported and no Java support.

The box contains a Lenovo headphone with mic which is white in color. It is very basic on ear headphone with average sound quality. The sound leakage is more and less noise cancellation features. Sound is very low at the full volume settings and need to buy other good noise isolation headphone, if you are a serious music listener.

The default video player supports MP4 and h.264 videos. I didn’t like the default one and download MX Player app for improved usage only costs 3 MB of data. The photo or video editor and documents viewer are also pre-installed in A6000 user-interface.

Final Words

Lenovo A6000 is one of the good smartphone with 4G enabled, have decent performance and design available at low price. The camera is good and recommended for people who want to watch HD movies on large screen, listening music, need to become free stock photographer or intermediate graphics 3D gaming.

The display is more pleasing and has smooth pixel resolution as compared with Moto E 2nd generation and Xioami Redmi 2. The Lollipop version of android is not included and has no OTG support. You cannot connect and transfer data from pendrive or memory card reader to A6000 storage and vice versa.  The near filed communication (NFC) is also not available in this low budget phone. The screen is smudge attractive type and need constant cleaning of screen by using cloth. If you are a serious gamer deals with high graphics games only, then try other high specification smartphones.
