This is an entry level Smartphone with lowest prices offers 4G LTE network support to take over the mobilephone market all over the world. Because the Xiaomi Redmi 2, Huwaei Honor holly and Moto E 2nd gen are the main competitors which only offer 3G network and also have more down side as compared with Lenovo A6000 smartphone.

At the first look I loved this phone because got cute look and slim design. It got my first impression at the time of unboxing the packet. It is also very light in weight and handy device with nice grip at the back. The 5 inch IPS display makes the screen more colorful and provides crisp HD quality display through the screen. The New Lenovo Vibe UI 2.0 interface with the Kitkat version of android makes it more user-friendly mobilephone to users.

It also powers Qualcomm snapdragon 410, quad core processor with Adreno 306 graphics processor and 1 GB RAM, speedup the multitasking up to limit. The basic apps functions are works smoothly with android Kitkat operating system. But I feel a slight lag is feels by operating internet browser with 6 or more tabs. You can play up to medium graphics games without any lag, but not good for high graphics 3D gaming. It provides 8GB internal storage memory and has provision to expand memory up to 32 GB microSD memorycard.

The 8MP rear camera with LED flash captures high quality pictures in bright light condition and also does well in medium light. The front camera (2MP) is good for getting selfies and both provide HD video recording at 720p quality.

Lenovo A6000 have removable 2300 mAH capacity battery provides up to 28 hours batterylife for mixed use. The battery drains more while playing games and using Wi-Fi hotspot networking. It also loaded with Dolby 2X stereo speaker which provides loud sound with good bass. The internal speaker provides nice call sound quality.

Overall, Lenovo A6000 is nice low price smartphone with attractive design and performance. It is too good up to intermediate level of multitasking. The camera is good to take some quality pictures and HD video recording of objects at day light. It is recommended for android beginner users and people who want to take some pictures, continuously browse through the internet, watching movies and experiencing high quality music’s. Like our website name, let us see the honest review of Lenovo A6000 Smartphone in very detailed manner.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Design (8/10)

Lenovo has managed to make the A6000 is good looking phone with glossy black finish screen when looking at the front. The front glass covers the full screen dimension. The manufactures more care about the design to provide great finish and smoother look to the smartphone. It is 141 mm in length, 70 mm in width and only 8.2 mm in thickness.

It also weighs around 128 grams and feels very light weight while on hands. The side corners are filleted with small radius and edges are flat and sharp retains the glossy black color. The back cover is made-up of plastic polymer and also black in color, but vinyl type. It also provide good grip at back and makes it easier to handle.

At the front glass contains front camera, sensors and phone internal speaker at the top face and Home, details and back button. The rear camera is located at the top left side with LED flash light just below it and two stereo Dolby speakers at the down side of the back body cover.

The right side edges contains the volume rocker and power ON/OFF button, helps to easy access of buttons with one hand and also frees the left side edge unlike Samsung smartphones.

The top edge contains the 3.5 mm audio jack port and microUSB charging and data transferring port. The microSD card, Dual microSIM and battery slots are located by removing the back cover.

A6000 has slim and light weight design than Redmi 2, Moto E and Honor holly. The black color provides an elegant look to the phone, but the front screen has affection to smudges. While using it, the finger prints and other smudge particles are easily stick on the screen. Because of that, need to clean always using a cloth.

The screen is doesn’t protected with corning gorilla glass and you need to buy an additional screen guard for it. But, Lenovo knows people needs and protection of their product screen. So, they include a screenguard in the product box and save some money of the buyers. I think Lenovo avoids the Gorilla glass new versions for making it on a budget price range. The charger set (adapter + microUSB cable) and headphone set are white colored and easily become dirty on continues usage.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Display (9/10)

Lenovo A600 have 5 inch with in plane screen panel (IPS) provides the great viewing angles nearly at 180 degree. The color combinations (16M) are bright and sharp in the LCD display and also have reduced black levels. The 1280 x 720 resolution with 294 ppi makes the display more crisper and high definition quality.

The display is excellent for watching videos (because of the large screen) and pictures of high resolution (720p). It uses Lenovo Vibe 2.0 User interface to display menus and supporting apps which are completely modified by the Lenovo. I used this mobilephone to watch Blu-ray videos (1080p) using MXplayer and reading eBooks of stories and textbooks with complete satisfaction.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Performance (8/10)

Update: Don't install android lollipop 5.0 OS system update on A6000 device. My system is completely stuck and performance is too low as compared to Kitkat version. It supports Lollipop 5.0 OS, the configuration is not enough to take the advanced OS. This update also consumes lot of your internal memory and regular apps update make it more and more slow. But lollipop is an amazing OS which is very user friendly and attractive than Android Kitkat.

The performance is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) in addition with Adreno 306 graphics processor unit. It have 64 bit processor architecture and 1 GB RAM or physical memory make it faster in each operations. The quad core cortex A53 part of the processor enables the multitasking features and home screen and apps loaded without any lag.

Lenovo A6000 basic operations like phone navigation, web browsing, phone calling, musicplayer, videoplayer etc are working smoothly with 1 GB RAM. But sometimes I feel some lag while overloading it with both music and web browsing with multiple tags. It has cleanup system which helps to free the memory and speedup the system.

The advanced level usage is supported up to an intermediate level. You can play 3D games with intermediate graphics without any lag. While loading high graphics game, may be feel system is too slow. Thus, it is not recommend for high size and graphics gaming. If you are gamer try for high end smartphones such as Samsung Note 3 or Galaxy S6 etc.

The Lenovo A6000 has an internal memory of 8GB and it is expandable up to 32 GB by using a microSD card. The Lenovo A6000 plus has improved 16 GB internal memory and 2 GB RAM now available on online market.

The heating issues are less found on A6000. I only feels more only on internet usage. This mobilephone is almost free from the heating issues and overall, provides a great performance.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Camera (7/10)

It has 8MP rear camera at the backside with LED flash. The camera is good for capturing pictures or scenes at good and bright light conditions. The picture quality is too good and at lower light conditions the picture side corners become slightly filled with noises. At lower light conditions, picture quality becomes lowered, but in small room the LED flash helps to get the objects with average quality. The front camera has 2 MP and great for taking selfies at best light conditions, otherwise the picture will too noisy and doesn’t look good. It is more helpful for people make video calling and fun chatting.

Both front and back camera allows to record videos at 720p resolution. Both cameras provide HD video recording with less noise only at bright lights and sound quality is also good.

The HDR feature helps to take landscapes images by controlling the exposure of the light. I think some improvements needed in HDR to controlling the shadows and highlights.

I also use rear camera for taking pictures of flowers and landscapes for my free stock photography purposes. I had submitted many photos in free stock photography websites likes Stockvault and FreeRangeStock. The pictures with good focus and exposure are accepted and noisy ones simply rejected. So, try to take pictures only at good light conditions.

I also struggle with the camera shot button inside display. While pressing it, phone become little bit shake and captured picture quality lowered. I have suggestion to Lenovo is that try to add an additional camera button at the lower right edge as like in Nokia Lumia 625 or Sony Xperia Z1.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Software (7/10)

The android 4.4 optimizes the user interface for speedy performance and nice user experience. It also enhances the touch screen response and help to save the battery life in a smarter way. Mainly the Kitkat interface is loaded with Lenovo’s Vibe 2.0 skin which provides some different looks like no separate menu, top drag menu, bottom drag customization menu, direct camera accessing and wallpaper changing. You can also group the each app in a folder. It has some pre-loaded apps (Guvera) and games like Asphalt 8, Frog HD etc.

Another cool features of A6000 is that Lenovo Doit apps such as Sync it, Security, Shareit and Customized UC browser. The Syncit helps to backup your all SMS, phone contactbook and call logs. The security app provides complete security from virus and malware attacks and also have anti-theft protection features. The ShareIt app enables the Wi-Fi tethering (data transfer through Wi-Fi) to Android, Windows or iOS devices.

The different audio profiles of phone can quickly access by using volume rocker button. Just press the volume up or down button and select the profile (General/Silent/Meeting/outdoor). Overall, the android kitkat with Vibe 2.0 UI is more colorful and provides very pleasing users eye. I have suggestion to improve the user interface and need to add some more useful customized apps.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Sound Quality (9/10)

This smartphone have built-in two stereo speakers are located at the backside which are controlled by Digital Dolby plus app technology. The sound quality is very good and has decent bass. The loudness well worked in room or less noise spaces.

But outside sound is very less due to the speaker design at back side. If your phone in normal resting position, it is difficult to hear the ringing music of the phone. Call quality is excellent and have crisp and clear voice quality in detail. It supports vibration, MP3 and WAV format ringtones.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Battery Life (8/10)

The Lenovo A6000 contains removable type battery of capacity 2300 mAh. According to manufactures specifications, it offers up to 264 hours for stand-by and up to 22 hours talktime (both 3G and 2G network). I tested for batterylife by mixed uses (internet, music player, videos, calling, chat etc), got around 19 hours batterylife. I found battery drains more at higher brightness level, internet and Wi-Fi usage.

Lenovo A6000 Review: Features (8/10)

The supported networks connectivity is 4G LTE, 3G and 2G networks. Currently I lived in India and m place not have any LTE network range. I tested with HSPA and GSM networks and found charge will drain more while using 3G. The data speed is excellent, the primary SIM slot support 4G/3G and secondary SIM slot only for 2G networks. Both are the microSIMs.

The other connectivity features are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot sharing, Bluetooth 4.0 (tethering), GPS, FM radio and microUSB 2.0. The GPS is nice value addition because it works offline (without internet connection) to find new city. It is controlled directly from the satellite and guide you in the perfect path. The web browser is HTML 5 supported and no Java support.

The box contains a Lenovo headphone with mic which is white in color. It is very basic on ear headphone with average sound quality. The sound leakage is more and less noise cancellation features. Sound is very low at the full volume settings and need to buy other good noise isolation headphone, if you are a serious music listener.

The default video player supports MP4 and h.264 videos. I didn’t like the default one and download MX Player app for improved usage only costs 3 MB of data. The photo or video editor and documents viewer are also pre-installed in A6000 user-interface.

Final Words

Lenovo A6000 is one of the good smartphone with 4G enabled, have decent performance and design available at low price. The camera is good and recommended for people who want to watch HD movies on large screen, listening music, need to become free stock photographer or intermediate graphics 3D gaming.

The display is more pleasing and has smooth pixel resolution as compared with Moto E 2nd generation and Xioami Redmi 2. The Lollipop version of android is not included and has no OTG support. You cannot connect and transfer data from pendrive or memory card reader to A6000 storage and vice versa.  The near filed communication (NFC) is also not available in this low budget phone. The screen is smudge attractive type and need constant cleaning of screen by using cloth. If you are a serious gamer deals with high graphics games only, then try other high specification smartphones.
